Our apartment is located right in the heart of Paris, in a friendly, authentic neighborhood. Its central location makes it easy to explore the city’s many landmarks, museums, and iconic districts.
You can admire the Eiffel Tower, stroll through Montmartre, discover the charming Saint-Germain-des-Prés district, walk along the Seine opposite Notre-Dame Cathedral, admire the street art of Butte-aux-Cailles, explore the Luxembourg Gardens with their many sculptures, browse the elegant Parisian department stores, or spend time visiting the city’s outstanding museums. All of these attractions are easily accessible by metro or bus.
In our neighborhood, you’ll enjoy the lively atmosphere of local markets filled with fresh produce, charming squares with bustling cafés, and a variety of neighborhood shops, including renowned pastry shops and chocolatiers. You’ll also find the famous Printemps department store nearby.
My name is Madeleine, and I will be your French teacher and accompany you during your activities throughout your stay. After a career in Information Technology, I earned a university diploma in Teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE).
I have lived in Paris all my life, I know the city extremely well, and I would be delighted to introduce you to places and activities that match your interests.
My husband also lives with us. He has produced documentary films and taught audiovisual studies to university students.
We have two adult daughters. One is a speech therapist at a hospital and has two young children. The other is a painter and theatre lighting designer and lives in Marseille, a vibrant city in the south of France.
I have a passion for cultural activities, contemporary literature, cinema, theatre, and music. I am also interested in architecture, urban planning, and gardens.
I play the piano as a hobby and love hiking in the mountains. Even in Paris, we can enjoy long walks discovering the city’s many fascinating neighborhoods!
We also love cooking, whether French or Asian cuisine, and prepare every meal ourselves. If you wish, we’ll be happy to teach you how to cook a few traditional French dishes.
During my career in Information Technology, I passed the competitive university examination to become a lecturer for undergraduate students (Bachelor’s Years 1 to 3), and I taught for ten years.
Throughout my career, I have regularly delivered professional training courses. I truly enjoy teaching and sharing my knowledge. I am patient, attentive, and always adapt to my students’ needs.
I later obtained a university diploma in Teaching French as a Foreign Language from Sorbonne Nouvelle University in Paris. For me, language teaching is also a wonderful opportunity for intercultural exchange.
We have frequently welcomed international students into our home and greatly enjoy meeting people from different cultures.
My goal is to help you make the very most of your immersion experience by tailoring both the lessons and activities to your interests and objectives. I hope your stay will be a rich and memorable French experience.
Mornings are generally devoted to French lessons, carefully adapted to your level, interests, and learning goals. We may work on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, and sentence structure using a textbook, authentic materials, or practical activities that naturally enrich your French.
Afternoons are usually dedicated to cultural activities and exploring Paris according to your interests. There is no shortage of places to discover, whether in our own neighborhood or elsewhere in the city by metro or bus.
Throughout these outings, our conversations will help you improve both your French and your knowledge of Paris. Language immersion is one of the most effective ways to develop genuine communication skills and experience authentic French life.
