Nestled in the heart of the French Alps, Annecy is a stunning destination where learning French becomes a truly immersive experience. This vibrant Haute-Savoie town of around 130,000 residents is built around Lake Annecy, one of Europe’s most beautiful lakes, renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and dramatic mountain scenery. Life here unfolds outdoors all year round. In winter, world-class ski resorts are just a short drive away, while summer transforms the lake into a paradise for stand-up paddleboarding, swimming, and wake surfing. Adventurous visitors can cycle or walk the spectacular 44-kilometer loop around the lake, pausing in picturesque villages along the way. For those seeking even more thrills, the surrounding peaks offer unforgettable hiking trails up Mont Veyrier or Le Semnoz, and the chance to paraglide from the Col de la Forclaz with panoramic alpine views.
But Annecy is far more than its natural beauty. The charming old town, laced with canals, pastel-colored houses, and bustling markets brimming with fresh local produce, invites you to wander, discover, and connect with French culture at every turn. The region’s culinary heritage is equally captivating, from rich Savoyard fondue and comforting tartiflette to the irresistible wild blueberry tart, best savored after a mountain hike. In Annecy, language learning feels natural and alive, deeply rooted in everyday life, authentic encounters, and sensory discovery. Choosing Annecy means choosing an immersion experience that captivates all five senses, one you will never forget and always want to relive.
I was born in Annecy, a beautiful Alpine town surrounded by mountains and a stunning lake. Growing up in a family of Spanish heritage gave me a strong interest in languages and different cultures from an early age.
I studied foreign languages at Sorbonne University in Paris before moving to Germany, where I taught French at the French Institutes of Cologne and Bonn, as well as in several language schools. During this period, I also taught Spanish and Italian while learning German myself.
After returning to France, I spent many years teaching Spanish in secondary schools. Later, I earned a Master’s degree in Teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE), allowing me to focus on helping international students learn French effectively and confidently.
Alongside language teaching, I am also a certified fitness instructor, teaching yoga, Pilates, Zumba, and other wellness activities.
Since 2024, I have been welcoming international students into my home for French immersion stays. My guests appreciate the friendly atmosphere, personalised lessons, and opportunities to practise French naturally through everyday conversations and activities.
Annecy offers an exceptional setting for language learning, combining French culture, outdoor activities, and breathtaking scenery. My goal is to help you improve your French while enjoying an authentic and memorable experience of life in France.
The programs in Annecy offer a unique blend of language learning and cultural discovery, tailored to each season. Every week begins with a placement test and French classes held each morning, focusing on oral comprehension, spontaneous expression, and everyday vocabulary. Afternoons are dedicated to exploring the city and its surroundings: guided walks through Annecy’s charming old town, its canals, and the iconic Palais de l’Île, as well as lakeside strolls and visits to local museums or the historic château. Conversation workshops, cooking classes featuring traditional Savoyard cuisine, and encounters with local shopkeepers provide authentic opportunities to practice French in real-life settings. Each day ends with shared meals where conversation continues naturally over regional specialties.
Beyond the classroom, a wide range of physical and outdoor activities adapts to the time of year. In spring and summer, participants can enjoy paddleboarding on the crystal-clear lake, rafting, beach tennis, cycling, or hiking in the surrounding mountains. Autumn brings forest hikes amid stunning foliage, photography and drawing workshops inspired by the landscapes, and visits to local farms and producers. Winter transforms the program with skiing and snowshoeing initiation, ice skating, and the discovery of Savoyard Christmas traditions and festive markets. Full-day Saturday excursions to nearby destinations such as Geneva, Aix-les-Bains, or picturesque mountain villages round out each week, while Sundays are reserved for relaxation, a final progress assessment, and the presentation of a participation certificate.
