What our students are saying about their experience with French Immersion at Teacher’s Home.

I wanted to improve my oral/written comprehension and conversational skills whilst learning more about French life, art and culture. I spent the first week with Catherine and the second with Fabienne. Prior to my arrival, they collaborated on which lessons to give me. Catherine focused on Gallo-Roman history and creative writing, and Fabienne focused on communication, pronunciation and linguistics. They are both very passionate and engaging teachers. The experience they each gave me was invaluable. If you ever have an opportunity, I recommend an immersion at teacher's home. The one-on-one interaction will allow you to learn and partake in daily French life.Posted on Google Jennifer GarbarinoTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I had a three-week French immersion experience with Georgiana. If you really want to work on your French, I recommend her whole heartedly. She is an outstanding teacher who has the ability to assess your skill level and tailor your lessons accordingly. I never felt that lessons were “canned” or by-the-book, they were always targeted to my needs. But the experience was much more than just an educational experience. Living “en famille” made it an engaging personal experience as well. Georgiana’s entire family was very welcoming and supportive. And while Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse is not a popular tourist destination, I thoroughly enjoyed myself exploring the chateaus, villages, and nature in the area (when I was not studying of course!). My only regret is that I did not have the experience ten years ago. Immersion is definitely the way to learn a language! I could not recommend the experience with Georgiana more highly.Posted on Google Brenda DrakeTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Cela m'a beaucoup encouragé. Comme l'année dernière, je peux recommander un séjour en immersion avec Georgiana avec enthousiasme!Posted on Google Sally BBTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. This was my first time that I have done a French immersion course in France with a French teacher. It was a fantastic experience and I highly recommend this learning experience. Georgiana and her family made the French language experience very authentic and you felt like apart of her family. The children were also so helpful and we only spoke French during all the meals and excursions. The best way to learn a language is to live it and with Georgiana and her family, you have the chance to live life the way the French live their daily lives. Her home was very welcoming and the small town of St Remy les Chevreuse is very quaint and full of interesting historical sites to see. You are only 40 minutes outside of Paris, so you can have the best of both worlds: access to the city as well as the peace and quiet of the countryside.Posted on Google Joran TimmermanTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. C'était une expérience très agréable. Georgiana et sa famille sont très gentille. L'immersion m'a donné plus de confiance pour parler français. Je le recommande !Posted on Google Nancy StevensTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Georgiana provides a five star French immersion experience from "in class" teaching to excursions such as trips to a farm and historic sites to sharing her delicious meals with her delightful family. The apartment is homey, comfortable and well appointed. Walking and conversing with the residents in St. Remy was a delight. I hope to return!!!!! Merci Mille Fois, Georgiana. The apartment is very well equipped with plenty of space, a comfortable bed and nice shower. Georgiana is a good teacher and tailors her work to focus on what you need to improve on. She also can explain and show you some of the local area. There are some nice woodland walks nearby, including one that starts from the disused railway line, just over the road from the train station.Posted on Google Helen Campbell HarderTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Bonjour à tous! Oui, je donnerais Georgiana et sa famille 5 étoiles! Je donnerai à anglais d’être claire et plus descriptive… While I am orginally Canadian from eastern Canada and took French in high school, that was over 60 years ago…Since retiring one of my stronger interests has been the French language…I’ve lived in Australia/NewZealand, the Australasian region now, for over 45 years…yet there are more and more people here interested in the french language and culture. I’m one of these, not totally fluent but loving the learning… For the last three years I’ve returned to France, particularly Paris for the pure joy, beauty and deepening interest in all things French. I've had immersive experiences in other countries as well as in France but not in a family. I know immersion is challenging yet deeply rewarding and useful in one’s integration into a culture and certainly in the learning of the language. I found a description of Georgiana’s immersive French family experience online…it was clearly described as unique, friendly and intensive yet in a family environment…Engaged by what she had written, I wrote to find out more… Georgiana’s written description closely reflected what I experienced. Any questions I came up with across the months, were answered quickly, succinctly and with warmth. I was looking forward to living with a family that had children and adults, as I have a granddaughter and know that children’s language is more direct, simpler and with a different perspective to adults...This, of course, can give you a different range of language experiences… The gift of sharing in, being welcomed into the daily ‘lived experiences’ of a French family, totally in the French language, I found uniquely powerful. Georgiana, as well as a partner of the friendly Michael, is the mother of Amelia and Roban (and 2 older stepchildren in university who made the trip home to visit me, underscoring that this is indeed a family affair:))…She speaks other languages and has other roles ( a herbalist and naturopath). She was also trained as a language teacher at the Sorbonne. Our morning classes were well organised with formal lessons focusing on areas of language interest and/or need…a brief test was a beginning to help Georgiana get a sense of my level and thus her teaching focus. I also had about 45 minutes to one hour of home work each night… Each afternoon Georgiana and I went out to experience options/events, I had chosen from an extensive list provided online -a fresh food local market, a tour of Chateau de Breuteille, I had a facial massage ( by Georgiana), a most beautiful walk along the river of small bridges, a visit to an organic farm ( as she and her family eat only organic)…So there is much to learn and language to explore in each of these experiences… There is much more I could write about but this I hope will whet your interest and invite you to step into…I’m more than glad I did… One immersive experience will indeed open the door to deepening your French language and knowledge of culture in a most welcoming fashion, life with a French family who enjoys having you there as much as you enjoy being with them!Posted on Google Louise MorrisTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I spent two weeks with Georgiana in her immersion program in the beautiful town of St Remy les Chevreuse. It was a wonderful experience. Georgiana has a very clear understanding of the benefits of full immersion and her whole family joined in with enthusiasm. I appreciated the lessons, the many interesting outings and my extremely comfortable apartment. All of these helped me progress beyond my expectations LouiseLoad moreVerified by TrustindexTrustindex verified badge is the Universal Symbol of Trust.
