I live on Rue Lecourbe, in Paris’s 15th arrondissement, a lively yet peaceful residential neighbourhood that offers an authentic taste of everyday Parisian life. The area has a warm, village-like atmosphere, with traditional bakeries, cafés, restaurants, local food shops and markets all within easy walking distance. Nearby Rue de la Convention, Rue de Vaugirard and Rue du Commerce provide plenty of opportunities for shopping, enjoying a coffee on a terrace or simply experiencing the rhythm of Parisian life.
The neighbourhood also offers lovely green spaces, including Square Saint-Lambert and Parc Georges Brassens, with its well-known weekend second-hand and antique book market. The 15th arrondissement combines a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with easy access to cultural attractions and some of Paris’s most iconic areas. Rue Lecourbe itself is particularly well served by public transport, and nearby Vaugirard, Convention, Commerce (Metro lines 6, 12, 5) provide convenient connections to central Paris.
For a student staying with me, it is an ideal environment for French immersion: safe and comfortable, distinctly Parisian, and full of everyday opportunities to practice French naturally — at the market, in local shops, over coffee or while exploring the neighbourhood together.
I am a qualified teacher of French as a Foreign Language (FLE), with a Master’s degree in Language Sciences specialising in French as a Foreign Language, Mobility and Interculturality. I have taught international students at Université Paris Cité and particularly enjoy helping learners gain confidence and become more spontaneous in their use of French. My teaching is communicative, supportive and tailored to each student’s level, interests and goals. I am also a certified DELF/DALF examiner and marker. My academic research focused on motivation and game-based learning, an approach I enjoy incorporating into my lessons to make learning both effective and engaging.
Beyond the classroom, I believe that language learning comes alive through genuine interaction and shared experiences. I enjoy culture, cinema, travel, cooking and discovering Paris, and I am delighted to share these interests with my students through conversations, meals, outings and everyday life. My previous experience with international learners has strengthened my interest in intercultural exchange and in creating a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable speaking French without fear of making mistakes. Hosting a student in my home is therefore a natural extension of my teaching: an opportunity to combine structured learning with authentic immersion in French language and culture.
My academic background combines advanced studies in Language Sciences with specialised training in teaching French as a Foreign Language (FLE). I hold a Master’s degree in Language Sciences, specialising in French as a Foreign Language, Mobility and Interculturality. This programme provided me with a strong foundation in language teaching methodology, second-language acquisition, intercultural communication, course design and assessment, with particular attention to the needs of international learners living and studying in France.
As part of my Master’s degree, I gained practical teaching experience at Université Paris Cité, working with international students learning French in an academic environment. My research focused on motivation and game-based learning in French language education, exploring how enjoyable, interactive activities can increase engagement, confidence and participation. This research continues to influence my teaching approach today. I am also a certified DELF/DALF examiner and marker, which has strengthened my knowledge of the CEFR levels and my ability to assess learners’ written and spoken French accurately. My academic training, combined with hands-on classroom experience, enables me to design structured yet flexible lessons adapted to each learner’s level, objectives and individual learning style.
My immersion programme is designed to make French a natural part of everyday life, combining personalised language learning with authentic experiences in Paris. Beyond our lessons at home, we can explore the neighbourhood together, visit its lively markets and local shops, and use these everyday situations as opportunities to practise French spontaneously. Parisian culture will also be an important part of the experience: depending on your interests and the exhibitions taking place during your stay, we can visit museums, galleries and temporary exhibitions, many of them within walking distance. For an evening out, we might discover the Bal Blomet, a historic and intimate music venue nearby, perfect for enjoying Parisian cultural life in a relaxed atmosphere.
Paris is also wonderful to explore by bicycle, and bikes are available for us to use together. Cycling allows us to discover different neighbourhoods, parks, the Seine and some less touristy corners of the city while continuing to speak French naturally. During your free time, you will also have plenty to enjoy independently: the neighbourhood is full of small restaurants, cafés, bakeries and terraces, ideal for experiencing everyday Paris at your own pace. I will, of course, be happy to suggest places to eat, exhibitions to discover, walks, markets or cultural events according to your interests. The aim is to make your stay a genuine linguistic, cultural and human immersion in Paris.
