The village

Landévant is a small town in the Morbihan department of Brittany, located at the end of the famous Ria d’Etel. It consists of the village and numerous hamlets, of which Kerzard is the largest.

The municipal area offers 9 museums, 26 historical monuments, 4 forests and 52 sports facilities within a 10 km radius, providing a wide range of cultural, sporting and leisure activities.

My programme is entirely tailored to your needs, interests and learning goals. Together, we will design a personalised immersion experience that suits your expectations. As a general rule, lessons begin after breakfast, while afternoons are dedicated to cultural visits, local discoveries and shared activities. Depending on the number of lessons you have chosen, however, we can also spread the learning sessions throughout the day. I can offer traditional, structured French lessons if that is your preferred learning style. If you enjoy a more natural and interactive approach, we can learn through everyday situations such as preparing a meal together, shopping at the local market, taking a walk, feeding the animals, or role-playing real-life conversations. In my experience, the most effective programme combines both approaches, but the choice is entirely yours. To keep lessons varied and engaging, I use a wide range of teaching materials, including recognised textbooks (particularly those published by CLE International), resources that I have created myself, newspapers, videos, songs and authentic documents. Everyday life is also an essential part of the learning process, and I encourage you to speak French as much as possible throughout the day. I systematically correct mistakes, whether during formal lessons or informal conversations. Please don’t take it personally, my goal is simply to help you gain confidence, accuracy and fluency in French. 😊 Who can join my programme? I welcome learners of all levels, from complete beginners (A1) to advanced speakers (C2).

Language and educational background

Holder of the French CAPES teaching qualification in Literature, I have over 30 years of experience teaching French to teenagers (aged 11 and over), adults, newly arrived immigrants, and unaccompanied minors. For the past three years, I have also been welcoming international students into my home for French immersion—a truly rewarding experience that I hope they have enjoyed just as much as I have.

Your homestay & Activities

At our place, you will have access to a heated indoor swimming pool, a spa, a sauna, a games room with table tennis and billiards, books and board games, a large park and a mini zoo (ponies, alpacas, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, etc.), and a pond where you can swim or go for a boat or pedalo ride.

If you want to visit this region with its strong and unique character, you will be spoilt for choice! Brittany has drawn on its traditions to become a destination appreciated throughout the world, and considered by many tourists to be the most beautiful in France. Breton culture is more alive than ever, thanks to popular traditions waiting to be discovered. With its picture-postcard scenery, it invites you to travel and marvel. The Gulf of Morbihan, where the climate is mildest, is rich in heritage: Vannes and its port, Carnac and its menhirs, the Quiberon peninsula, magnificent islands, Lorient and its Interceltic Festival…

Breton culture is famous for its traditional music and dances, particularly during daytime and night-time festivals: the fest-noz and fest-deiz, listed as UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, are a living expression of Breton culture. My husband and I belonged to a group for several years (he played the guitar and I sang). I have been practising these dances for over 30 years and would be delighted to teach them to you and then take you dancing.
