Meet Dalila, your French teacher and host

I’m Dalila, your teacher and host in Vernon, a charming town in Normandy. For over 30 years, I’ve been teaching French to adults of all levels and backgrounds, both in France and abroad. My teaching philosophy is centered on kindness, clarity, and communication. At home, I live with my husband Philippe, an entrepreneur with a passion for synthesizers, and our beloved 6-year-old cat, Patcha. Our two grown children often visit: Tarek, 28, teaches French as a foreign language, as does his partner Juliette — both hold Master’s degrees from the University of Rouen. Aurore, 20, studies cinema in Paris. We love gathering on weekends to cook, play board games, enjoy family meals, and spend time in the garden. Teaching French is truly a family passion, and welcoming guests into our home allows us to share not only the language but also the warmth of our daily life. You’ll be immersed in an authentic French-speaking environment, where every moment becomes an opportunity to learn and connect.
