Brousses-et-Villaret is a gem nestled in the heart of the Montagne Noire: it’s a tiny, traditional village that’s particularly quiet (no shops) but very lively!
Brousses offers:
My experience in French as a foreign language began in 2005 in Mexico as a French Assistant in a high school. In 2009, settled in Reunion Island (Indian Ocean), I gave tutoring classes, a more personalized teaching format and in line with my values of transmission. In 2013, I seized a professional opportunity and went to Madagascar as a French Language Facilitator where, with my partner, we created, directed and animated the “Club de français du LLB”. Our goal: “Do everything, with nothing”. And we did it. Also, I decided to validate my skills in FLE with a Master’s degree. For the record, this training put words to methods that we applied spontaneously with my partner, and this definitively confirmed my natural skills in this field. Since then, I have multiplied my experiences in FLE: language schools in France and Belgium (CERAN method); scientific high school in the Dominican Republic; individual immersion courses in Colombia, Spain and Morocco; individual courses and educational engineering online ; literacy training with the migrant minor population in France.
Benefiting from these experiences, since 2021 I have sought to teach using my own methods and ideals. I then began offering full-immersion French language stays in my home. The progress has been so remarkable that I now want to develop this activity primarily. Why this method? Coming to my home in Brousses not only offers quality French lessons but also a life experience. Learning in a natural and peaceful setting, near a river in the heart of the forest, in a village rich in encounters and festivities. Furthermore, Carcassonne is a land rich in history and tourism. Finally, my jovial, flexible, curious, communicative, and observant personality guarantees a 100% immersive and personalized learning experience, based on interactions with local people, visits to spectacular sites, and, perhaps, the discovery of a different philosophy of life.
In 2001, I enrolled at the University of Montpellier III, where I obtained a DEUG Langue, Littérature et Civilisation Espagnole (2003).
In 2004, I went on an Erasmus exchange to Spain (Valencia), where I obtained a Licence LLCE (2004).
Back in Montpellier, I obtained the Maîtrise LLCE (2005).
At the end of 2005, I worked as a french language assistant in Mexico (Torreón), where I gained my first experience in French as a foreign language.
Upon my return to Montpellier in 2006, I completed the Master Etudes Romanes : Espagnol (2007).
Since then, I have worked primarily in spanish (translation, private tutoring…).
Finally, during my significant experience in Madagascar (3 years), I decided to validate my skills in FLE by registering for an open distance learning course at the University of Reunion where I validated the Master 1 Arts, Lettres, Langues: FLE (2016).
In Brousses, we offer a complete immersion experience that’s not only linguistic, but also cultural and authentic. You’ll be completely immersed in the daily life of a small country village: daytime walks with the adorable dog Mila (in the forest, mountains, or river); the famous Tuesday evening “Enchanted Market” (with a concert!); and discussions with the neighbors. The region is also rich in tourist sites and history. Of course, you won’t want to miss the extraordinary city of Carcassonne (12th century) and its unmissable legend of Dame Carcas; the discovery of Montolieu, a book village; and the Black Mountain road with its many traditional villages, lakes, and 100% natural viewpoints. Finally, if you’re interested, the Brousses-et-Villaret Paper Museum will explain everything from the history of paper to its manufacture from cotton clothing.
Generally speaking, immersion programs in Brousses offer classes in the morning, followed by a walk or activity in the afternoon. However, the service we offer is based on the principles of “Adaptation and Flexibility” in order to work at the most convenient times: in time (spontaneous classes) and in place (outdoor classes). It all depends on…you! Furthermore, spending time in Brousses is much more than just a language stay; it’s an experience. An experience of sharing, exchange, kindness, serenity, and comfort in the heart of nature. In short, a whole art of living…
To immerse oneself in the French language is to enter a world where every word carries the weight of history, every conversation reveals a culture, and every day becomes a discovery of the soul. —Maya Angelou
