I am a French national and had the privilege of receiving a bilingual education in English and French from an early age.
During my secondary education, I also studied German and Italian.
In 1989, I earned a Master’s degree in Trilingual Translation and Terminology (English, German, and French) from ISIT (Institut Supérieur d’Interprétation et de Traduction).
I have been working as a freelance technical translator and project manager ever since.
In 2021, I decided to broaden my skills and evolve my career by training in teaching French as a foreign language. I completed courses offered by CNED and the Alliance Française, earning the DAEFLE (Diplôme d’Aptitude à l’Enseignement du Français Langue Étrangère) degree.
As a translator and a trained French language teacher, I offer a personalized approach to language immersion. I am fluent in English and have some knowledge of Italian and German, which can help with your learning process if needed. Immersing yourself in French offers the unique advantage of personalized, tailor-made lessons that are designed to suit your level and preferences. By staying with your instructor, you will have the opportunity to actively listen to and practice French throughout the day, seamlessly integrating language learning into different engaging activities.
Possible activities within the area are as follows:
If you prefer more cultural activities, Paris is brimming with exciting possibilities and you can choose them based on your interests:
Evening theater or concert outings, museum visits, exploring iconic neighborhoods such as L’île de la Cité (Notre Dame) and l’île Saint-Louis, Le Marais, the Latin Quarter, Montmartre.
My husband, who is newly retired, is a passionate handyman and nature lover, will be around during your stay. He is also a great cook :) Our two adult children might pop in and out occasionally, but they are no longer staying with us.
IMPORTANT NOTE: We have a playful 2-year-old Brittany Spaniel who is friendly and a bit energetic, so it’s very important that you feel comfortable and confident around dogs.
To immerse oneself in the French language is to enter a world where every word carries the weight of history, every conversation reveals a culture, and every day becomes a discovery of the soul. —Maya Angelou
