Montgeron is a calm, middle-class, family-friendly town located about fifteen kilometers from Paris. It’s famously known as the starting point of the first Tour de France cycling race in 1903. Historically, it was also part of the route taken by Louis XIV on his way to Versailles or during royal hunts.
The environment is bucolic, surrounded by greenery, gardens, lawns, châteaus, and enhanced by the Sénart Forest—a true haven for walkers, cyclists, and joggers.
Nearby Yerres, less than two kilometers away, is famous for its museum in the former home of 19th-century Impressionist painter Gustave Caillebotte. Situated in a vast park accessible to the public, the site is perfect for a picturesque boat ride along the Yerres River, recreating scenes immortalized in his paintings.
I’ve been teaching French as a foreign language for 25 years and practicing as a psychoanalyst in private practice for 17 years. I have authored several books published by a renowned Parisian publisher. I love reading and traveling.
My professional experience allows me to teach both adults and children, from beginner to advanced levels. I emphasize a communicative approach rooted in everyday life situations to enrich students’ understanding and help them grasp the sociocultural codes specific to France and the French language.
I speak fluent English, Spanish, and German, and I fully understand Italian. I hold a master’s degree in French as a foreign language and have been teaching for 25 years in both public and private institutions. My multilingual background enhances my ability to understand learners’ challenges and to tailor instruction to their individual needs, making the learning process more effective and engaging.
After a hearty breakfast, mornings are dedicated to practical French learning at home: dialogues, phonetics, situational grammar, and playful role‑plays around everyday life. Lunch is shared at home and offers a taste of French culinary specialties.
In the afternoons, we explore nature with forest walks, summer picnics by the river, autumn chestnut picking, or winter mushroom foraging, followed by a cozy dinner at home. Evenings feature board games or French films with English subtitles.
On weekends, we visit the Caillebotte estate and museum, admire Impressionist artworks, and explore Port aux Cerises in Draveil, just five kilometers away, to enjoy the charms of the Seine and a variety of water activities.
To immerse oneself in the French language is to enter a world where every word carries the weight of history, every conversation reveals a culture, and every day becomes a discovery of the soul. —Maya Angelou
