Montferrat is a charming village located in the Var department, in the Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur region. Ideally situated on the road to the Gorges du Verdon, about 15 km from Draguignan, it offers a pristine natural setting, perfect for relaxation between sea and mountains.
Built in an amphitheatre of hills, Montferrat stretches along the banks of the Nartuby. The village is dominated by the Notre-Dame de Beauvoir chapel, perched on a promontory that commands an extensive panorama over the commune.
I have been teaching French as a Foreign Language for 12 years and have had the opportunity to live in several countries and travel across the world. Passionate about French history and literature, I love sharing and passing on this cultural heritage through my teaching.
I hold a Master’s degree in Arts, Literature, and Languages from the University of Nantes, as well as a Master’s in Anthropology, Sociology, and History from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Marseille. My teaching approach is tailored to each student’s specific needs, ensuring an adaptive and personalized learning experience.
I pay particular attention to students’ ways of thinking and learning, helping them build their own knowledge and gain confidence in their language skills.
Originally from the south of France, I organize immersive French courses every summer in the stunning French Riviera. The rest of the year, I live and teach in Paris.
Discover Montferrat, a commune in the Var department of Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, situated about 15 km north of Draguignan at an average elevation of 480 m. Perched in an amphitheatre of hills along the banks of the Nartuby, the village extends along a historic main street framed by stone facades and olive groves. Upon arrival—typically via Draguignan station—visitors can settle in a restored limestone cottage near the town centre before embarking on a guided walk to key landmarks such as the Church of Saint-Roch and the Chapelle Notre-Dame de Beauvoir, which overlooks the valley from 660 m altitude.
Structured language sessions are held in a local community room or outdoors with panoramic views, while free afternoons allow for self-guided exploration of Montferrat’s heritage: the ruins of the medieval Castrum at Camp de Canjuers, the 18th-century Fontaine de 1751, and the Pont Mirabeau spanning the Nartuby. Hiking trails lead to natural attractions such as the cascade de Pierrepont and oratory-lined pathways, balancing formal instruction with independent discovery of Provençal culture and landscape.
To immerse oneself in the French language is to enter a world where every word carries the weight of history, every conversation reveals a culture, and every day becomes a discovery of the soul. —Maya Angelou
