Bonjour and welcome!

My name is Georgiana MAËS ONESIM and I’m the founder of French Immersion at Teacher’s Home — a network of passionate French teachers across France and the French overseas territories (DOM-TOM) who open their homes to students from around the world for immersive language and cultural stays.

This journey began with a simple, personal dream: sharing my love for the French language and culture in a truly human, warm, and immersive way.

As a graduate of La Sorbonne, with over 20 years of teaching experience — including in FLE (French as a Foreign Language) and as a university evening class instructor — I’ve had the chance to work with learners of all ages and backgrounds. Teaching has always been more than a profession for me; it’s a calling rooted in human connection, curiosity, and cultural exchange.

Years ago, I created Paris-French-Immersion, a one-woman adventure based in my home in the Vallée de Chevreuse, just outside Paris. It was a unique and intimate experience, where students not only learned French intensively but also discovered the rhythms of real French life — through daily conversations, shared meals, cultural outings, and authentic connection.

Very soon, my little classroom at home couldn’t meet the growing demand. More and more learners were reaching out, eager for this kind of meaningful, personalized immersion — and I realized that something bigger needed to happen.

That’s how the idea for this network of selected teachers was born.

I began connecting with like-minded French teachers from all over the country — and beyond — who shared my values of hospitality, generosity, patience, cultural curiosity, and love for teaching. Each teacher in the network is carefully chosen not only for his/her professional expertise, but also for his/her heartfelt desire to share his/her region, his/her home, and his/her culture.

Through this expanding community, students now have the opportunity to experience the diversity and beauty of France — from Provence to Brittany, from the Alps to Guadeloupe — all while learning French in the most immersive, human, and unforgettable way.

 To create a warm and genuine learning experience where language and culture are lived, not just taught.
